Top Ten Tuesday (3): Series I Want to Start

Top Ten Tuesday: Series I want to start

Hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish

toptentuesday

1. The Raven Cycle, by Maggie Stiefvater

Man, I’ve been intrigued about this time for a long time, but for some reason, never started it. *sigh* It’s a definite TBR for this year.

2. The Alienated Series, by Melissa Landers

I’ve seen some reviews around. Some good, some bad. But it’s aliens! XD So, it really piqued my interest. Yep, I bite. Will read.

3. The Last Princess Series, by Galaxy Craze

First off, ‘Galaxy’ is a very, very cool name in my opinion. And, the cover of this first book is pretty badass. Consider me hooked.

4. Talon, by Julie Kagawa

Excuse me, but I’d even read this author’s supermarket list o.o So when I learned she was soon releasing a book about dragons, I went a little crazy. The cover is simple, but it’s gorgeous.

5. The Queen of Hearts Saga, by Colleen Oakes

I became more interested in the Wonderland world after watching ‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’, and then, reaching the conclusion my WIP was going to be set in this world. So, this series, told from the Red Queen’s POV? Added.

6. Firebird Series, by Claudia Gray

I admit I was not a fan of her vampire series. Never really that much into it. But this one did grab me. Excellent job on the cover and a promising concept too 🙂

7. Soulfinder Series (Study series Part Two), by Maria V. Snyder

Maria wrote a trilogy, consisting of Poison, Magic, and then Fire Study, featuring Yelena Zaltana, a magician who then discovers, she’s actually als a Soulfinder. Now, it wasn’t only th originality that kept me coming back for more, it was also the world she build itself. Everything makes sense and works. The food, the geography, the weather… Even the clothes they wear! It’s all very simple. Ixia is in the north, and Sitia is in the south. But there are so much political, economical and social differences that beg to be explored and so much possibilities for conflict that I was blown away when I discovered she was going to write more books about her. I’m very excited!

8. Incarnate, by Jodi Meadows

This is pretty much the same story as The Raven Cycle. Been in my TBR list for a long time, but now I have a newfound itnerest in reading this 🙂

9. The Young Elites series, by Marie Lu

Unfortunately, I never was very interested in reading her other books, but I’m giving these ones a shot because it sounds awesome.

10. The Lunar Chronicles, by Marissa Meyer

This one was recommended to me in Goodreads. But since at the time, I wasn’t too interested in overly Science Fiction books, I never even read the blurb. But now that I did, it’s on my plans to read it soon.

  1. I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the idea of Cinder when I first read the blurb – I like fairies and princesses and dragons, but I wasn’t sold on the cyborg story line. But I gave in and started it yesterday, and it has sucked me in much faster than I expected!
I recently read The Raven Boys, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!

  2. I can definitely vouch for the Raven Cycle and The Lunar Chronicles as being great reads! I’m right there with you, I’ve never been a big sci-fi fan, not even with Star Wars. I really found that the sci-fi elements weren’t too overwhelming and only certain elements and characters take place in space, a lot of it is in a future Earth with a really fascinating political system. Hope you enjoy it!
