I really wanted to read these books in 2018

There are always those books you keep dragging with you through the years, unread, hoping this would be the year you’ll finally get to them.

I don’t really have easy access to YA english titles, so this list would be a lot longer if I counted the books I can’t actually buy because of my situation. I’m only going to talk about a few books I’ve either bought as ebooks, or physical copies, and didn’t get the chance to read them last year, or couldn’t buy, but because I gave priority to another book.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature previously hosted by the Broke and Bookish, and now has a home with Jana. Every tuesday we talk about our top 10 something and have a lot of fun. You’re welcome to participate! It’s a great way to discover new blogs and stay in touch with the community.

The Cruel Prince, by Holly Black

Even now, you can’t go a day without seeing this book somewhere on the Internet. I’m still a bit on the fence about it. I wanted to read it, but then not so much because of a few opinions I read. It has a lot going for it though. I think I was sold when I found that it was somewhat connected to Holly Black’s previous work.

Tithe, was one of the first books I ever bought. I still have the paperback in spanish, back when I read in spanish. It was also the first book about faeries I ever read. So chances are, that probably I’ll read this one this year!

The Hate You Give, by Angie Thomas

I’m trying to not to feel too guilty about this one. I swear I intended to read it but I got caught up doing other stuff. I even lent it for a while to my booktuber partner in crime, Felix. He absolutely loved it. Of course, he felll head over heels for Tomi Adeyemi with Children of Blood and Bone, but this one was also right there.

I have a paperback in spanish, and I wish I had waited a bit to have it in english. But I have it already, so maybe I’ll read it and then do a giveaway. I really hope I can get to it before the movie hits theaters here.

All the Ugly and Wonderful Things, by Bryn Greenwood

I’ve had this book sitting here with me for three years. I don’t know what initially possesed me to order it. The interest has faded a bit over time, but I’m still intrigued. Apparently, the age gap between the two romantic partners is a bit problematic, and I somehow didn’t notice that part when I’d been initally researching this book. Once I heard, well, it was a bit disappointing, but in my mind, the book moved from romance, to those kind of books I read once in a blue moon that are so drastically different from my usual genres of choice.

I’m really hoping it’ll surprise me in a good way!

A Torch Against the Night, by Sabaa Tahir

Finally, the eternal procrastinated book. I swear now I have a reason. I decided to officially wait until all the books are out. I’ve lived through having to wait for sequels enough times already. I’ve gotten over An Ember in the Ashes, so let me have my peace for now.

Have you been procrastinating with some books? Which of my list should I give top priority to read this year?

  1. Oh I am always, ALWAYS procrastinating with series sequels, so I get why you’re waiting to get to A Torch Against The Night. I recently read that one and it was so good, but all of the emotions, well… that was a roller coaster and I need a break before getting to the next one 😂
    Happy reading, Pam!! <3

    1. So glad to hear that! Though I’m now undecided if I should get the kindle version or wait a little longer until I get the physical book. I hope you do enjoy it a lot!

    1. I remember An Ember in the Ashes was amazing! I was reading my review of the book and it seems I really enjoyed, but I can{t remember a lot of things, so I’ll probably have to do a reread. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your reads as well!
