A month of new books, renewed motivation and perpetual exhaustion

Happy Birthday to me!

I hadn’t done a Wrap-up post in forever. I didn’t get any new books in May per se, but the novelty of having acquired about 12 in april hasn’t worn off. I’ve barely made a dent on them, but that’s a good thing because I don’t want to read them all yet. At the same time though, I want to read them cover to cover!

Motivation levels fluctuating but mostly high

I’m trying to keep myself motivated in general, to write, and to, you know, wake up in the morning and face the world in general. I’m trying to find enjoyment in the little things since as a whole, life is stressful and a little messy. So I zero in on the things that make me feel good, like a good movie, or books.

My perpetual exhaustion

My right eye has started twitching. I hope it isn’t serious. My friend Google has assured me that it’s a sign of stress and sleep deprivation, which is beyond sad. So I need to work on not overworking myself? It’s hard because of all the things I want to do. My brain wants to be in a thousand places, jumping way ahead of the rest of my body, which clearly has had enough. I’m also working on slowing down a bit, like I said above, hitting pause and concentrating on a few things that make me happy.

The new feature idea that might just work, or not

For the longest time, I wanted to incorporate spanish into my blog. But I wasn’t sure of how. So, I decided to start doing mini-review posts in spanish, reviewing books that people can actually read in spanish and are available in my country translated. It seems like a good idea to do book recs for my friends who don’t read in english but are YA fans 🙂

Books I have read but not reviewed

  • Dark Triumph -Robin LaFevers
  • The Battle Sylph -L.J. McDonald
  • The Devil in Spring -Lisa Kleypas
  • Happily Ever After -Kelly Oram

  1. Thanks for mentioning me! I graduated high school and am therefore feeling very lazy. Don’t overwork yourself, Pamela! I also didn’t read a lot in may (finishing high school is hard work) but hopefully I’ll have a lot of time for it this month 🙂
