I opened a Youtube Channel (Again)!

I’m back at it again with the videos, only this time it’s slightly different. About a year ago I started my own youtube channel using the same name as the blog, Reverie Society. My videos were in spanish though, so of course, most of the friends I’d made in the blogosphere, wouldn’t be able to understand them so I turned my attention to my spanish-speaking friends. Not that it did me a lot of good. I wasn’t very passionate about it because of three main reasons:

  • It was extremely time consuming
  • I didn’t have an appropiate editing software
  • As a result, I wasn’t satisfied with what I saw on screen

These three things combined led me to decide that video just wasn’t for me. So I fell in love with bookstagram and continued blogging.

I did get a wonderful editing software shortly after that, but for other reasons entirely.

Back up to the present

Just last week, a writer friend of mine, Felix Villacis told me about his idea to start a Youtube channel. He works at our local bookstore, so I was helping him out taking some book photos for their instagram account. We were talking, and out of nowhere, he suggested doing the booktube thing together.

Now, I’m the kind of person who tends to freak out when there are to many things on their plate, but I’m also the kind of person that gets excited by a new shiny idea very easily. So, of course, I said yes.

As of the writing of this post, it’s saturday, and today we published our first video. It’s just a short introductory one, but we have great hopes in our  project.

Because there’s a surprise,

We’re going to be adding english subtitles to the videos!

I’m lucky to have met the people I’ve met through blogging and bookstagram and I’d love for you to be able to support this new thing I’m beginning to try to understand.

Have you ever thought of starting a booktube, or normal youtube channel?
