2015 Guayaquil Book Fair Recap

A while I go, I mentioned how I was starting a bookish revolution. It’s slow going. But I have high hopes for this. So the first step, was actually getting to know better the ecuadorian book community. Which was why after almost three years of absence, I decided to go to the anual book fair!

And surprisingly, I had a lot of fun. Only downside was I had no money to buy any actual books! Boohoo

And hung out with THE Jane Austen! She took pity on me and agreed to pose with me for a pic, while my friend met Gabriel García Márquez.

I liked how there was a lot of schools that had organized trips there and see the guys getting interested in books. There was even a section for comics!

While I didn’t have a chance to buy any books, I did get myself an official reader ID. :’D I thought it’d be hilarious to have that in my wallet.

We walked around the place at least a dozen times. I’d have loved to attend one of the conferences that were going to take place, but life is hard and college sucks, so I had to settle for going at noon, when the attendees were mostly school kids.

We still managed to hand out some of these though!

Ignore Rafael, the true star is actually the flyer :3, but don’t tell him I said that.

Do you go to a lot of book fairs, or book events? What is your favorite thing about them?
