Synopsis
It's a night like any other on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into the nearest planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone. Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than they're worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help. Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each other's arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonder—would they be better off staying here forever? Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won't be the same people who landed on it.
Attention! Attention!
This Shattered World is coming out soon!!!! In light of this, I’m posting this review.
Okay. Like many out there, I just picked up this book and shelved it in To-Read because of the gorgeous cover. Take your time to stare and worship that cover.
Did you take your time? Yes? Okay.
I couldn’t formulate a review on GR when I read this one because I just… *breathe* I knew I couldn’t. Now, maybe I’ll be able to very concisely convey what exactly I liked about this book that fell from heaven to us poor mortals to take everywhere and tell about to our robot grand-children.
In my book, there are some key things that make a novel get five stars. (Or five book-flag wielding silhouettes)
- Awesome characters? Check -Hate characters don’t change
- Awesome plot? Check -Slow in the middle, but tension was always present.
- Awesome romance? Check – :3
- Awesome world-building? Ch- We don’t see a lot about the world they live in, but Annie and Meagan make do with what the characters can show us so…. CHECK.
When I started the book:
And Lilac’s friends were like
to Tarver.
And when things took a turn for the worse…
And then Lilac and Tarver had to suck it up and work together and trying to be
But we all know they cared 🙂
And towards the end…
And then I just had to have a break because Tarver’s emotions would just leave me as a wreck.
Then, finally, I reached the end. I was… I had no words. It was a beautiful story of survival told by these two people that I really grew to care for.
Oh, and you might be wondering why the Mean Girls gifs. 😉
Yep, I don’t even know!
So, what did you think about this book?
