Yes! I made a post a while ago about the advantages of using roleplay to get to know your characters better, and suggested the RPR as the most suitable site to do so. Well, this week, is EPIC WEEK at the site, which means, it’s its 5th Birthday!
The founder and mods have dedicated lots of time to prepare the wonderful events for this week.
You can now submit art for the Genre Jumble Art Contest, for the Poetry Contest, and Essay one, and more. You can win tote bags and other RPR swag! I’m very excited about it, and would like more people to know about it and spread the love.
My Story
I don’t use the RPR as much as I used to, but that’s because working sucks all my free time. Regardless, if you like roleplaying, and would like to create individual, well-thought out profiles about your characters, the RPR is your go-to site.
Aside from the usefulness, the people there are super welcoming.
I joined them in April 2012, after I’d spent hours searching for a new Fantasy RP site, but the boards I’d found so far were burning my eyes from so many dark backgrounds and the bright fonts. They were so confusing!
So I found this clean, very easy to understand one, and I was like ‘Why not?’. At first I was lost, but I soon found the help pages and devoured the info there. It was obvious from the start that the thing was all organized and it’d be easy for me to find what I was looking for.
After I posted a short intro at the Introductions topic, some peeps approached me for RP, and that’s how I jumped into the ship. It was easier from there. And I went from being someone who stared in awe at the paragraph-lenght replies, to happily posting them.
I met artists, writers, and computer geeks. And I love knowing there are places where we can all coexist.
