This month’s prompt: “How doesmusic relate to your writing?”
I don’t usually listen to music while I write, since I get too distracted, but sometimes it does the trick and somehow it works, but most of the time I just end up singing instead of writing.
So, how does music fit into my writing life then? Well, it turns out the trips from home to college and back and around usually last more than half an hour, more than enough time listen to a couple of songs, which turn out to be necessary due to the colorful assortment of songs that the guy who drives me around plays in the car.
In a good day, a song will make my mind play some scenes I’ve written as if it was a movie. If I get really lucky, I’ll get a ‘vision’ and suddenly a wonderful idea will hit me in the form of a movie sequence in my mind, which leads to me listening said song nonstop until I hate it. 🙂
In a normal day I’ll set the thing in shuffle and hope beyond hope that my mind makes itself useful.
Now, if you’re curious, here’s a playlist of the songs I listen the most because they have, or have the potential to trigger some inspiration in me.

I definitely know that lots of people don’t always listen to music while they work, which is fine. But, ya know, sometimes you end up with chances to listen to music you weren’t expecting, and that’s great, too! 🙂

Yep, I’ve learned that everyone works their own way, and it’s awesome anyway. Today I got inspired with the Sim’s City game music for a story XD

I love when a song’s on and suddenly you get a flash of a scene! Nice post.
