Writer Interview Saturday: Sharing our support for authors, and the books we love
Guess what? Anna’s book comes out soon! For all of you who are waiting for it, and those looking for something to add to their TBR shelf, stay tuned to learn more about this lady.
Q: Deciding to write a book is a very important decision. Why is writing important for you?
To me, writing has always been a way to express myself. I used to write poems, and I had tons of journals and notebooks with random writings in them. (I even wrote a song once.) Writing is personal, it’s an all-consuming process. I missed out on a lot of years of it when I had my kids. They snatch up all your free time! But it’s the last piece of the puzzle that makes my life whole, and I’m so glad I have the time to do it again.
Q: In a scale from 1 to 10 how moral would you rate Charlotte and Travis from your book, Make Me Forget?
Charlotte, I’d say she’s like a 7 in the beginning. She has an internal struggle, and has to make a decision between the Angel and the Devil on her shoulder. Ultimately, the Devil wins. She regrets her decision and lives with the guilt for years. And Travis, he’s a 10 – in more ways than one. Such a good guy, I kind of fell in love with him writing this story.
Q: What is one element in the story you think that shows the most? (i.e. Anger, Betrayal, friendship… etc.)
Honesty. For sure. With Travis especially, though. He had a horrific experience in his past, and has a hard time dealing with being lied to. To him, honesty is the most important aspect of a relationship. And Charlotte’s dishonesty makes him question a lot about his values. He struggles between what he feels for her and doing the right thing.
Q: What kind of books do you like to read?
I like to read romance, contemporary mainly. I do have a few other non-romance books on my shelf. I suppose you could say it’s only 1 book, since I’m referring to The Hunger Games. I’ve got lots of writing books, too.
Q: Are you planning on writing more books?
Yes! Make Me Forget is part of a series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but the characters will be intertwined. I’m also working on a couple different anthologies with some other awesome writers, and a separate stand alone novel that was knocking at my brain to get out.
Q: If you weren’t a writer, what would you be?
Well, when I’m not writing, I work as a Veterinary Technician, and I love it. So if for some reason, I wasn’t doing either of those things, I’d be a photographer.
Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me!
