So, what does a bookworm do on vacation anyway?
She buys lots of books. Yep.
And?
Buys bookish goodies?
Duh
If you’re reading this, then I’m back in the game, just starting college classes today, and missing my vacations like crazy. As I’m writing this, I’m already dreading the day I’ll have to leave. I’ve been having so much fun these days!
I went to a Barnes & Noble for the first time and even got a membership card :O I got some coffee too. But more importantly, BOOKS. Holy shit, there were tons of them! I’m aware this must be just another day in the life of any normal person, but for me, I’d never seen so many YA books in one place EVER. You must understand, I mean, you guys have like three Teen Fiction shelves. Three, very large ones, might I add. In my country, we only have one small corner, where it’s more Harry Potter, Twilight, and the Hunger Games than anything else.
It was the most exciting thing in the world to see all those books I spend my time marking as to-Read, for when I can ask my mom to send me some, or when I spot them on Netgalley, or they arrive at my bookstore; so accessible right there. It went a little like this:
Yikes. THAT’S A HELLUVA TON OF BOOKS. Which should I get?
Crap. I picked too many. Will this fit in my luggage later?
Oh, who cares. YOLO.
Yes, I did actually think that. I did think YOLO. I even wrote it on my phone so I wouldn’t forget.
Unfortunately, I can’t go to the bookstore every day. Luggage politics and my allowance were against me. D: The rest of the time, I’ve been exploring.
Pamela goes to Hershey’s Chocolate World
We didn’t stay long here, because it was such a random thing we decided to do. We were on the road, wondering where the hell we should head to next, and then mom said, ‘Let’s go to Hershey’s’. And I was like, ‘Oh, she wants to buy some Hershey’s. Nice.’ I had no idea there was an entire park dedicated to chocolates! They give a free automated tour about the process of making the chocolates and it was really nice. Good thinking too, make the little tour free, let the poor souls waste their money on the chocolates and gifts. Sweeet.
Pamela goes to New York
Pamela starts the tour very excited. YAY!
Pamela sees important, old building. Huh, it’s cold.
Pamela sees some huge ass buildings. Mom, could you please take this pic, already? Um… I can’t feel my face. Am I smiling?
Another huge ass building. Niice.
Meawhile, Pamela:
But then,
Pamela is happy to do silly poses because her fingers are holding a deliciously hot cup of coffee. Pamela will never get on the upper part of a tour bus ever again.
The End.
Pamela will stop talking about herself in third person now, you’re welcome.
Most of this happened during the first week. The second week, I’ve been taking it slow, going to malls with my mom, and stuffing my face with waffles :3
I had a wonderful break, and I feel great!
