I haven’t been very productive movie-watching wise this month, but I managed to squeeze in two (yay!). It seems that when my brain refuses to compute the written word, and burns at the the thought of staring at that bloody blinking cursor moving over a blank page of what is supposed to be an essay, it gladly accepts the soothing effect of wasting no energy in just absorbing a movie.
Here we go!
1. Jupiter Ascending
I watched it out of pure boredom. I didn’t even know what the thing was about. I was just drawn because of the sci-fi theme and Channing :3. But you know what? It wasn’t bad. I mean at times, it reminded me of Snowhite and the Huntsman, like in this one scene when I had the sudden urge to go back to math hw.
Yep, Snow. But to be fair, a somewhat logical explanation is given as to why the bees surround our dear Jupiter. And also, the girl gets bonus points for having more than one brain cell. So, even though most of the movie can be sumed up in three sentences:
Jupiter is falling down
Jupiter is saved by Tatum (Sorry, don’t remember his movie name) just at the nick of time, every time.
Jupiter wants Tatum to kiss her. VERY MUCH.
I can’t deny the special effects were pretty amazing, and the plotline isn’t bad at all. Well done Jupiter!

2. Exodus: Gods and Kings
It started out nicely. And I was eager to see how they’d represent the plagues, and the parting waters… I was very excited. But… unfortunately, for me, the excitement decreased as the movie progressed, reaching a very low point when the boy playing as God made his first appearance. He looked like a brattier version of Aang.
I think the most important higlight of this movie was Christian Blae’s acting. And the effects. And flesh-eating crocodiles :3
