I have no braincells to come up with a discussion post topic, but I really didn’t want to write another review. So, I went to the official page for the discussion challenge, hosted by Nicole from Feed Your Fiction Addiction, and Shannon, from It Starts at Midnight. Luckily for me, Shannon had a few ideas for the zombies who stayed up most of the night watching a TV Show. *cough* Not that I did. *cough*
Doing a bookshelf tour seemed a pretty awesome idea to get out of my slump in a different way! So let’s get started!
This is the top of my bookshelf, where I keep all the dark books hidden ;). We have Twilight, the Host, some Stieg Larsson, and look, also P.C and Kristin Cast. These were the beginnings of the bookworm, and while with time, I grew to find these a bit distasteful, I do value what they gave me. So I keep them there. These books are the ones who drink to the ol’ good times and are content keeping each other company.
Here, I keep the most recent ones. Books that I may take with me anywhere at a moment’s notice, so they need to be within easy reach. The 5th Wave I just got yesterday, and haven’t read it yet. Pikachu is happy to be among books :3 This is a competitive floor, where all them big hardcovers, and great paperbacks want to be best. It’s up to Flounder, Sylvester, Jim, the Bear and Pikachu to keep the peace.
The same rule from above applies to this one. Here’s where I keep my bookmarks, and I keep some books in spanish, mixed in with the english ones. An Ember in the Ashes is just there because this floor deserved its star. The residents here are happy, and coexist in harmony.
I love all my books, but sometimes, some are just ‘meh’, and go here. Not you, Vampire Academy, you just didn’t fit on the other levels. I didn’t want to separate them! Books 3 and 4 are missing from the collection, so them books gotta stick together. Here you can see at the very end Monster High, and there’s Tithe, by Holly Black, and Uglies, by Scott Westerfield, And… there’s Rapunzel. Yes, she’s Rapunzel, but my dolls can’t never stay with the outfit they came with for long XD.
And… There you have it. I apologize for the awkward light. My room is a cave. No, really. The lightbulb doesn’t work, and the light that comes from my window would never be useful to light the bookshelf, given its position RIGHT NEXT TO IT BUT FACING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. So, I had to do some editing work to make it look half decent.
What you see up there is a build-a-bear basket. Relax, the bear is safe.
If you must ask, yes, I took that last pic from my bed. I’m not flying, and I’m not that tall. 🙂
How do you organize your bookshelf?
Annie @ Indoor Sojourner says
Your bookshelf is adorable! 🙂 I organize my books roughly in alphabetical order, but a few are out of place just because I thought they looked better that way. I recently did the Bookshelf Tag on my block, feel free to check it out!

Love the Halloween feel of your blog – you aced it despite the soft colours (on the other hand, pumpkins are orange…). Also love how you gave your books different personalities according to their shelf :).
Predictably, I have mine shelved by genre, except the Christopher Pike lot that stay together in chronological order. Boring, I know ;).

XD I have this think that makes me compulsively want to change how the blog looks. I’m really happy about the Alice in Wonderland font. Once October is over, I’ll probably just change the font but leave the dragon. Dragons are cool.
:3 Haha, yes I’ve always seen them as groups who hang out together per shelf (I’m weird).
No! I envy people who have a system, specially those who do it by color! By genre must feel like it’s a library! 😀

Very fun! I love seeing people’s shelves (though I have to give the credit to Shannon at It Starts at Midnight for the idea – we switch off who writes the monthly post and October was her month). Glad you felt inspired!
