3 Years is not that long. But I remember that first year, when I’d visit a blog and see in their archives posts that were from 2011. 3 Years.
I also remember when I first started this particular blog, and I was picking the hosting plan. I told my dad, ‘Look, there’re different plans. If I pick 3 years, there’s a discount’. He was dubious I’d stick with this for that long, so he said he’d only pay for one year. One year it was, and then I renewed it again for one more year.
Book blogging has made me take things one step at a time
Not always, though. Because there’s always the comparison. Blogs in 6 months have achieved more in terms of followers, reach, number of comments than I have in 3 years, and I won’t lie to you that’s fucking disheartening. Because I don’t think, what are they doing right?, I think, what am I doing wrong?
Sure, I’m not in this for the numbers, because if I was, then I’d be long gone, amigo. But, I’m in this for the community. Sometimes it feels like I’m in one, and others I feel so alone.
We can only improve though. And that is very very… heartening. Blogging is a labor of love. You either got it, or… you keep at it because you love it so much giving up is just not an option.
I’ve learnt more about marketing than I did during my classes
Well, no need to explain this one since we all can agree this is a given
I need to be my own source of motivation
This is linked with the first one. See, if the hordes of followers and commenters (HA) haven’t come yet, then that means motivation has to come from myself. I’ve become very good at doing that. I get angry, frustrated and disappointed very often. But that just won’t do. So stats aren’t amazing, or even that good. But for heaven’s sake then turn on that brain and begin thinking of blog post ideas, go blog hopping, do something.
You know how you feel great when a really nice person drops a really nice comment on your blog? It’s so awesome! But I can’t depend on those to completely be my reason to blog. There needs to be a balance.
Reverie Society -Full disclosure
Because I’m really done with being ashamed of my stats. I always feel so so ashamed. This is the first time I’ve ever talked about them in specific numbers and I think it was about time.

Yeah, this last year hasn’t been the best. But that’s entirely my fault. I started an internship and that’s definitely reduced the amount of time I can dedicate to literally all the other things I want to do, and that includes blogging. It’s really annoying.
2015 really was the best. I was on a roll!
Stats were taken from the Jetpack stats so not sure how truthful they are. Don’t think they’re too off the mark though.

Guys you’re all so sweet. I love you. Talking is always a pleasure and even if with some we don’t talk as much anymore, never forget how grateful I am that you found what I had to say interesting enough to leave a comment.

And that’s it. That’s the blog summarized in numbers.
The blog in people
This is the customary part in blogoversaries post when we name all the people we can remember and fit into a paraghaph that have helped us in some way.
So let’s do this, shall we?
In no particular order, there is obviously Marie, who is always so encouraging and friendly and has been a great person to have online! And Puput, whose blog is amazing, and even though she’s on hiatus she remains her awesome self and she’s the first blogger with whom I ever chatted about personal life so, thanks for being a friend! A big hug to Cait, because even though she has a mountain of comments to respond to on her posts, she always replies to each one and makes us feel special. Huge thanks to Hazel and all the team from the Stay Bookish magazine. We’ve created something amazing and it makes me so happy! Let’s stay awesome! I want to also thank Shar big time because I don’t even know how we became friends but she adds me on tags on Instagram and that’s lovely XD Your pics are so natural-looking and pretty! I also want to give a shoutout to the gals from the College Bloggers twitter group. You’ve been steady fixture in my life this year and it’s been awesome sharing the woes and wins with you!
Finally, a huge thanks to all the new people who have found my blog this year. Welcome, and I’m so happy to have you stopping by!

Important: Here’s the deal, I’ve got a lot of fonts and graphics available to play with and I’d love to dabble in some design since I haven’t in a while. However, for now, this giveaway is open to US peeps only. I’m hoping to be able to do something similar for people from the rest of the world who Society6 ships to soon though, so don’t despair!
Are you happy with your own blog? What do you think you could get better at?

CONGRATULATIONS, Pam, on three years of blogging! This is such an awesome accomplishment. I’m going towards my three years anniversary just as well, and it’s both terrifying and absolutely delightful to know we have been blogging for this long without giving up, despite the hiatuses and everything else happening! Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS again, I am so, so happy to have met you thanks to blogging, it is always such a pleasure to talk to you about everything and anything, Pam <3
I feel the same way about numbers and taking things one step at a time – whenever I see bloggers, only old of a couple months, getting thousand of followers already, I ask myself the very same questions of what I am doing wrong. But I geuss we all have our own rhythm, also, we are doing fabulous and being here for the community and the love of it all <3
